What is trade tracking?
You share a Steam token with Empire, which lets us check your trade history and verify that a trade was completed. The token can't be used for anything else.
We mainly use it to pay out the seller’s coins after the 8-day trade protection period on Steam ends (when the trade is no longer reversible).
How do I enable tracking?
By following this video guide: https://vimeo.com/1097323012
Once the token page loads, you'll see something like this:
{"success":1,"data":{"webapi_token":"XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX"}}
Copy and paste everything into the input field on Empire, and do not share the token with anyone.
If all you see is {"success":1,"data":[]}, log in at http://steamcommunity.com/ and try again.
The token resets every 24 hours and needs to be manually updated. You’ll see this after successfully enabling tracking:
Click “Confirm” to save your settings. Our trading system will now automatically check for updates every few minutes and complete your trade if the item was exchanged on Steam.
How does this benefit me?
Sellers are automatically credited once the trade protection period ends.
Buyers no longer need to manually mark items as received. Just dispute if you didn’t get the item or if there’s an issue. If you let the trade expire after the seller marked it as sent, your coins will be transferred to them.
In most cases, neither side needs to submit evidence for disputes—our system verifies trades via your history.
